The Jones County Appraisal District is seeking applicants for the position of Chief Appraiser.
Applicants must hold a current Registered Professional Appraiser license with TDLR.

AGRICULTURAL QUALIFICATION UPDATE:
The Jones CAD Agricultural Advisory Board adopted a 25 acre minimum to qualify for the exemption. This Open Meeting took place on October 13, 2021.

 

If you are interested in serving on the Jones CAD ARB, applications are located on the ARB application tab. Before applying, make sure you are willing and able to serve from 8-5 during the week and possible weekends anytime in June and July. Training is also a requirement and provided by the Texas State Comptroller.
Applications can be emailed to jonescad@hotmail.com and will be sent to District Administrative Judge. Application deadline is February 10, 2023.

The duties of the appraisal district include:

For your convenience an after hours drop box has been installed at the south side of the entrance to the appraisal district.

Tax rates and ultimately the amount of taxes levied on property are determined by governing bodies of each of the taxing authorities.
Mineral, utility and industrial accounts are appraised for the district by Pritchard & Abbott, Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas.
Real estate and personal property accounts are appraised locally by the district.
