Office Closure- Jones CAD will be closed on Monday, 2/19/24, in observance of Presidents Day. Normal hours will resume Tuesday, 2/20/24.
 
ARB Applications - If you are interested in serving on the Jones CAD ARB, applications are located on the ARB application tab. Before applying, make sure you are willing and able to serve from 8-5 during the week and possible weekends anytime in June and July. Training is also a requirement and provided by the Texas State Comptroller. Application scan be emailed to jonescad@jonescad.org and will be sent to the District Administrative Judge. Application deadline is March 15, 2024.

Our Mission

Our goal is to provide equitable and accurate appraisals to all property owners in Jones County and to respond to their concerns and questions in a professional and courteous manner. 

AGRICULTURAL QUALIFICATION UPDATE:
The Jones CAD Agricultural Advisory Board adopted a 25 acre minimum to qualify for the exemption. This Open Meeting took place on October 13, 2021.
 
For your convenience an after hours drop box has been installed at the south side of the entrance to the appraisal district.
 
The Jones County Appraisal District appraises property for ad valorem taxation of these taxing authorities.

The duties of the appraisal district include: 
  • The determination of market value of taxable property
  • The administration of exemptions and special valuations authorized by the local entities and the State of Texas
 
Tax rates and ultimately the amount of taxes levied on property are determined by governing bodies of each of the taxing authorities. 
Mineral, utility and industrial accounts are appraised for the district by Pritchard & Abbott, Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas.
Real estate and personal property accounts are appraised locally by the district.
